Frequently Asked Questions

Who are your services for?

People come to me when they’re planning a website launch or rebrand and need their copy written or when they want to take things to the next level with strategic digital content. I primarily work with solo entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses in the visual and wellness industries. I also partner with agencies and am available to collaborate with in-house creative teams.

Who are your services not for?

I write with personality—or rather, with your personality. If you’re looking for quick and dirty, cookie-cutter, sales jargon and inside the box ideas, I’m probably not the right copywriter for you.

What is a “copywriter,” exactly?

In the words of Judith K. Charles: “a copywriter is a salesperson behind a typewriter.” (Or keyboard, if you will.) In other words, copywriters concoct magical word combos that seal the deal. We can be creative and informative, too, but the ultimate goal is to convert browsers into buyers.

What’s the difference between “copy” and “content”?

Copy is intended to motivate people to take some form of action. It’s typically shorter and sales-focused. Content is often longer and more informative: articles, blogs, white papers, ebooks, descriptions, reports, etc. In other words: copy persuades and content informs. However, there are many cases in which copy also informs and content also persuades.

What if I don’t like what you write?

I want each and every one of my clients to walk away with words they love. This is why each project includes up to two rounds of complimentary revisions, giving us ample opportunity to massage your message to perfection. I understand creative projects can take unexpected twists and turns, so don’t fret if you need more than two rounds—I’m happy to accommodate additional revisions at my hourly rate.

When is payment due?

I ask for 50% at the beginning of each project. This secures your spot on my calendar. The remaining 50% (plus any add-ons, as discussed along the way) will be due upon project completion. All sales are final upon signed contract.

That all sounds great! When can we get started?

Awesome! I’m currently booking new projects for 2018. Head on over to my contact form and drop me a note about your project needs. I’ll be in touch with next steps within 48 hours (M-F).
